The Engagement!
On Friday, 12/7, I had to beg Kelsey to leave the house. I asked her if she wanted to go check out Snowflake Lane in Bellevue, cause I knew she'd always wanted to go. We bundled up in our sweatshirts and raincoats, as if it was just another normal night. As all the lights flashed and the music blasted, we looked up and saw it started to "snow". It was then that I asked Kelsey to do something for me for Christmas, to be my wife... I picked her up and swung her around as everyone started clapping. It was the perfect night and the perfect moment.

Approaching the Final Lap
It has been awhile since my last post, but for legit reasons. PT school is everything I've expected it to be. Late nights in the cadaver lab, long full days in class, awkward palpations with fellow students, who are awesome by the way. As of now anatomy has been my favorite course, there is a lot of material, but it's so fascinating. After each exam I'm impressed with myself, not only for doing well, but because I can answer questions that I never thought to be possible. "A patient walks into the clinic after being referred by her physician regarding a segmental nerve lesion. The PT asks the patient at what level? She replays, I think C7. As the PT what manual muscle tests would you perform to correctly identify where the lesion is? And what movements may be weakened?" It felt so awesome to be able to distinguish which muscle is innervated by different segmental nerves, and then to be able to test those muscles and see which ones are affected and which aren't. This is the kind of stuff I get to do for the rest of my life. I'm very fortunate to have been accepted into such a fine school at UPS, and I'm thankful for the opportunity. Winter break is quickly approaching, meaning that finals are around the corner. I'm sure my fellow PT cohort will agree that we are looking forward to this break more than any other break we've had in our academic careers. I've posted a picture of my schedule for next semester, and as you can see most of my days begin late morning...hell ya!! Now that this semester is coming to a close I get to remind myself that I'm taking neuro-anatomy next semester, yikes. Although I'm still remaining optimistic.
Like I mentioned earlier, I have learned so much this semester. For example, people who take anatomy tests with a pen are arrogant assholes, double check the syllabus so you don't study all night for the wrong exam, avoid spraining your ankle the first weekend of classes so you're not the class example for using crutches incorrectly, and cherish everyone around you, because you don't know when God will decide to have them join Him.
